Rainbow Bridge

Just this side of heaven is a place called Rainbow Bridge.

When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here, that pet goes to Rainbow Bridge. There are meadows and hills for all of our special friends so they can run and play together. There is plenty of food, water and sunshine, and our friends are warm and comfortable.

All the animals that had been ill and old are restored to health and vigor. Those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again, just as we remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by. The animals are happy and content, except for one small thing; they each miss someone very special to them, who had to be left behind.

They all run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly stops and looks into the distance. His bright eyes are intent. His eager body quivers. Suddenly he begins to run from the group, flying over the green grass, his legs carrying him faster and faster.

You have been spotted, and when you and your special friend finally meet, you cling together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again. The happy kisses rain upon your face; your hands again caress the beloved head, and you look once more into the trusting eyes of your pet, so long gone from your life but never absent from your heart.

Then you cross Rainbow Bridge together....

I've got way too many fun things to do here so I won't be blogging anymore.

Neighbor's House

Our neighbor's house is looking very different. That's the house where Davis, Duncan and Sadie dogs live.

On Deck

Treats!

Mom had a coupon so we got some good treats at the store. For some reason mom doesn't like buying us these kind but Casper and I love them!

Waiting

Mom promised us that she'd take us to the "doggie" store tonight after she gets home from work...

Spring?

Mom says it's Spring now but it's still kinda cold. We went over to the canal for a walk. Wonder when they're going to put the water back in.

I was sick for a day but now I'm back to bopping around and eating and drinking.

Oh almost forgot - we met our new neighbor doggie - Mulligan. She's almost all white but she's not an eskie. I'll ask mom to take a pic of her.

Casper's Birthday

It's my "brother" Casper's 11th birthday today. Eleven years old and he still loves to play with toys! Mom isn't even going to buy him a toy this year because he has so many. Sesame Street characters are his favorite - especially Cookie Monster, Elmo and Honker. Today he picked out Telly to play with.

Looks Like Spring

It looks like Spring out there but mom says not yet. We went for a walk over at Thomas Creek. Mom got her shoes really muddy. I loved rolling around in the muddy grass.

The Mysterious Lucky Appears

Mom's been taking care of Lucky for her friend again. Finally he decided to make an appearance and mom took his picture. We get to go for a ride in the car to his house for a few more days!

Animal Crackers

I surprised mom! I broke into her Animal Crackers... ate right through the lid. I don't think she was too happy with me.

She said she expected that kind of behavior from a young pup, not a 10 year old dog!

Double Header

We got out to two different parks today! Mom wouldn't let us off the leashes because she didn't want us to go swimming in the park with the water. No doggies around today - we saw a lot of birds though...

Attacked!

by a great big Newfie.

Mom took us to Fellows Road Park this morning. We were sniffing about and this great big Newfie comes wandering over. Mom loves dogs so she just wanted to say hi and pet him. The big doofus came over to me and I snapped at him to warn him to behave around mom.

Well, he nailed me to the ground and started attacking me. Mom was really scared - good thing his owner came and finally got him off of me. His owner was very sorry and mom apologized for my snappiness.

We took a walk around the park and when we got back to the car a big golden retriever came over. Casper was so scared he started crying to get in the car - mom hustled us in - she didn't take any more chances this time!

Thawing a Bit

We're having a mini heat wave this weekend. Casper and I hung out in the yard while mom got the remaining ice patches off the driveway.

Our town has officially gotten 98 inches of snow so far this season!

Playground

Mom took us over to the playground! I went through the castle door and whoops! next thing I knew I was on the ground - guess that wasn't a slide!

Turkey

I got sick again and didn't want to eat. Mom bought me some turkey and yummm! that got me eating! The last few days I've been feeling a lot better and enjoying some nice sliced turkey. Thanks mom! [And I'm back to eating my dog food too!]

Snowflakes

A lot of snowflakes are flying today! Too bad mom has to go to work - we could have a lot of fun out there! I think when she gets home tonight we can play - I've been in such a playful mood since I was sick the other day. I've been wagging my tail a lot and trying to get Casper to play but you know him - such a sourpuss. He only wants to play with toys.

Back to Normal

I'm back to normal again. Mom even took me out to Fellows Road Park for a very short walk. It was only short because she was too cold - not me - I was doing my rolling-around-in-the-snow thing. There were a bunch of dogs running around and they came up and said hi and I was very pleasant!

Feeling a Bit Better

Mom picked me up from the doctor's house after work. I wouldn't eat anything for a while but now I'm feeling a bit better and ate some turkey and had some treats.

Sick

This is Snowflake's mom - Snowflake was very sick this morning and she is at the doctor's house - Dr. Linnenbrink is taking good care of her and doing tests.

Bouncing Off The Walls

I guess I'm not hibernating too well - mom says I'm "bouncing off the walls". I guess that means I have too much energy. I've been especially crazy this morning and really hungry - mom can't wait to leave for work today to get away from my bugging her for food! I think she'd better take us to the park very soon!

Brrr

It's too cold now even for me! I'm hibernating...

Canal

Mom took us up to the canal for a walk today. I really enjoyed myself rolling around in the snow.
